Your role as a member of the Communications Committee is so important to your chapter and the national movement. We help the chapter communicate with the public, as well as, our members and our affiliate. Since PCULYP is dedicated to your self-development, we want you to be enriched as a result of your service. We also understand that your personal time is valuable and sometimes scarce. That's why your 2017 Communications Committee will have organized roles/tasks, learning opportunities, and fellowship perks to maximize your opportunities for growth in the movement.
Meetings will be held at 11:00 AM on the first Saturday of each month. The location will vary. Meeting duration will be approximately one hour, but will vary based on the topic or outing.
The National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP) chapters nationwide celebrate service by joining together to promote comprehensive STEAM educational opportunities and mentoring each Spring. By planning activities that expose black and minority communities, particularly youth, to fields they are underrepresented in, chapters generate excitement and awareness. Chapters partner with STEAM, STEM, arts and mentoring organizations. This year, the Pinellas County Urban League Young Professionals will partner with Lakewood High School and Center for Advanced Technologies (CAT) for a STEAM-related Career Fair. *STEAM = Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math.* The Career Fair will expose youth to careers in STEAM, presented by YP members and other experts in a variety of fields. Student Target: All Lakewood/CAT students grades 9-12 YP Volunteers/Vendor/Professionals Target: • 10-15 STEAM vendors/professionals • Each vendor will be provided a booth (table and chairs)
Vendor opportunities are available. Please apply by March 27.
